CREATING YOUR OWN STAMP!!
CREATING YOUR OWN STAMP!!
Of all the years I had studied performing artists and how they created their own identity or 'sound', for instance, when you are young and grow up listening to also being inspired to a huge degree then you aspire to be as great as your heroes thus on the eternal search for how THEY got to be so successful in nailing their true identity that created that 'impact' that gets heads banging. I had given up chasing that 'phantom' the didn't exist and stuck to what I felt was important thus close to my heart which was this kind of music...yet how I wanted to express it, what did I want to say, how did I want it to sound? When I had stopped chasing my favourite guitar player's tone I freed myself up so I later allowed myself to go after whatever came natural to me, also being honest with myself in what guitar or amp I wanted to play through and whether the sound I was hearing back was 'me' because once I had found out how one of my favourite player's had either wrote riffs, what gear they were using, how they approached everything...and once I got nearest to any of it, I either 'couldn't' use it...or I didn't like it. So I want to encourage people starting out to use the 'tools' that suit YOU, and say what YOU intend to say, be honest with yourself by playing what YOU love because it should make you happy (and that goes for everything else in your music!)

FUN!!!
FUN!!!
FUN!! I remember when I first got into this type of music, I felt consumed by and even 'driven' to a new state of being where, the feeling of sheer intense excitement, a feeling so 'electric' that I felt like I had a new capacity to move mountains. Then coming back to the 'real' world (in a good way) I then begun the process...or wait, I begun dreaming, about learning to play, and not only learning to play this music, but owning more records, knowing more and more about what other bands and artists play this music, owning T-shirts, growing my hair, getting tattoos (later on), wearing the skin tight jeans ripped at the knees, a leather jacket, a denim cut-off with as many patches sewn on as possible...too many things to mention here for this short piece but you probably get the picture, but the upshot is, these things were all FUN!!! I think everyone out there should look for their 'fun' aspects of this type of music, because I feel that...not only in music but a LOT of things in life, we can get too serious, so keep it fun because it's all about ENERGY!!!!!

Dedication To The Cause
Dedication To The Cause
When you want to learn how to get good at something and you begin taking lessons, it seems that half the time there are rules, now these can be good pointers of sound advice that are great for getting you started, but further down the line, especially when seeking advice, you will encounter a lot of different ways to do something like applying a skill, that is because we are human, everyone is different, thus different people will tell you 'different' things, they all have their 'own' ways of applying skills when it comes to it, playing a musical instrument such as guitar, bass, drums, or even vocals.
The thing that REALLY matters to get you through in the long run is your PASSION, being dedicated, and knowing what you really want to do in this game.
If I was asked advice about what it takes to 'make it', I would then ask, how do you wanna 'make it'? Do you wanna 'make it' by reaching the TOP? Or do you wanna be the BEST at what you can possibly be, not so that you can be a HIGH ranking musician above and beyond all, but be a much more improved version of what you can already do, better than you were for just YOU and you only, and most of all because you LOVE to play this kind of music, regardless of where it 'gets' you or where it 'doesn't'!
